Library Assistant
£7.35p/h
Hours are 8.20am - 3.20pm
Based in a village location in Northamptonshire
Ongoing temporary position
To maintain a pleasant and purposeful study environment for Post 16 students. Prepare, organise and manage learning resources. Provide Students with advice, guidance and support. To provide administrative support for Post 16.
Duties;
1.Ensuring behaviour of students is appropriate for effective private study and it is in accordance to the code of conduct
2.Providing appropriate guidance for individual students accessing the library’s learning resources including appropriate ICT internet usage
3.Ensuring that the library’s resources are appropriately organised accessible and accounted for, including accessing university prospectus and related career materials
4.Setting up of new UCAS login (yearly) on the school computer system and managing the procedure. Assist students in the completion of their UCAS applications
5.Managing Form Tutor references for all students applying for university places
6.Managing the Post 16 Library and UCAS budgets. Collecting cheques/cash payment from students applying to university. Checking and authorising of UCAS invoices.
7.Collating Yr11 into Yr12 transfer induction process, such as subject choices, preparing for and supporting on results days, Yr11 to 12, Yr12 to 13, Yr13 and assisting with the Y12 and Y13 leavers process.
8.Provide administrative support to the Head and Deputy Head of Post 16, including producing letters, memos etc as required to parents, students and staff. Providing key documents at appropriate times, including Post 16 Prospectus Information, Post 16 Information Evening, Post 16 Induction Yr12, Parent Calendar
9.Prepare for Post 16 Achievement evenings and Yr12 and Yr13 parents evenings.
10.Updating careers material and liaising with Connexions as and when necessary.
11.Arranging coaches and dealing with relevant paperwork for out of school visits to higher education conferences.
12.Such other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
