BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
An expanding market intelligence authority and part of a £1B plus Marketing Communications group is seeking a Business Development Manager to work closely with a leading Wholesale customer and their supplier base.
Role Purpose
As Business Development Manager you will be an inspirational leader, sales hungry and a driven sales person with a proven track record of success. The ideal candidate will come from a background of business intelligence and have experience in the FMCG market in selling reports, data or subscriptions, and be experienced in the interpretation and use of the data. You will be targeted to develop new sales with FMCG suppliers and successfully manage existing revenue streams.
Key Accountabilities
Lead the sales and execution of account management strategy and delivery tactics.
Participate in Wholesaler client strategic planning as part of the Sales Team.
Act as the central point of contact for clients on all supplier issues and opportunities.
Act as a key interface point with client Trading Teams.
Deliver regular training seminars to clients and customers.
Understand and interpret Sales Data tools and communicate insights.
Raise the contact points with manufacturers from Account Manager to Director level.
Widen the number of customer contact points to include Insight, Category Management, Sales and Brand Marketing teams.
Develop key customers and deliver new business revenue.
Manage the Bid Review process to ensure the most effective and efficient sales strategies are adopted for each opportunity.
Work closely with the Head of Sales to develop sales collateral and product positioning.
Person Specification
Degree or commensurate 7–10 years experience in FMCG Sales, Account Management or Buying.
Experience of managing Wholesale/Retail customers and/or supplier management.
Success in selling or interpreting data to create business building strategies.
Trade Promotion and Category Management principles.
Effective communication, organisational and presentation skills as well as strong leadership.
Fully IT literate across the Microsoft Office Suite & Excel.
Has experience of Senior National Account Management/Solution Sales or Buying function.
Demonstrates commercial acumen and effective problem solving skills.
A full clean UK driving licence.
A negotiable salary, bonus scheme, car allowance, pension and life insurance are offered.
